Records have been broken this year in the entertainment industry by the season 2 premiere of Bridgerton, a Netflix original series that is packed full of drama and romance. It first debuted on December 25, 2020, and season 2 came out on March 25, 2022. It is set during the Regency period in London, England, with season 1 set in the year 1813, and season 2 set in 1814. The show’s events happens during the social season of the year, a time in which young girls and boys court each other to find their perfect match for marriage. The main characters are the Bridgertons, one of the most respected families in town. It focuses on the Bridgerton childrens’ hunt to find their perfect match for marriage. The first season focuses on the eldest daughter Daphne, and season 2 focuses on the eldest son Anthony.
This show is actually based on the Bridgerton series by author Julia Quinn. The original series is comprised of a total of 9 books, and so far the seasons correspond with the books’ order. The first book was published in 2000, and the last book was published in 2013. With only seasons 1 and 2 out so far, there is enough time to read the books before the rest of the show is released. Now whether you become obsessed with the books, tv series, or both, you can certainly be excited because Bridgerton has been renewed for season 3 and season 4!
